Mental Health First Aid is an 8 hour, evidence based public education program designed to teach everyday citizens the skills to help someone struggling with a mental health concern or crisis. The course teaches how to identify risk factors and warning signs and to understand and respond with a practical action plan. Participants receive a comprehensive 138-page manual and certification as a “Mental Health First Aider” that is renewable every three years.
Participants must attend all 8 hours to receive certification.
If you would like to attend a course that's full, please send an email to Amanda Blue, and you will be added to a wait list. We are working on scheduling more classes and we DO have cancellations. Participants MUST attend the full 8 hours for certification. If you select a course offered over two days (four hours each), please make sure you are able to attend BOTH sessions. Spring semester courses coming soon!
This is an excellent opportunity for our students, faculty and staff to get this training, free of charge, on our campus.
