Degree Programs and Courses
The Women's Studies
Program offers a Bachelor of Arts and a Minor in Women's Studies
I. The Bachelor of Arts in Women's
Studies consists of 30 semester hours of credit divided among the following
courses:
1. WOS 225: Women Today: An Introduction to Women's
Studies
2. WOS 405: Feminist Theory (prerequisite:
WOS 225 or permission of the instructor)
3. Strongly encouraged: WOS 400: Internship;
WOS 410: Senior Colloquium or WOS 415: Senior Project
5. Elective Courses: Other courses chosen
from Women's Studies offerings each semester may be applied to the major, under
advisement. At least six courses must be completed at the 300-400 level.
II. Minor in Women's Studies
The minor consists of 18 semester hours,
including WOS 225 and either WOS 405 or WOS 415. Other courses may be chosen
from the list of Women's Studies offerings. No more than two courses may be
taken in a single department. Additional courses may be applied to the minor
with the approval of the Director of Women's Studies.
