Did you know that West Chester University is home to five colleges?  In this video we will take a tour and visit each one.

The largest of the colleges is the College of Arts and Sciences, which provides a wide variety of degree programs in the humanities, sciences, social sciences, and liberal arts.  It also offers unique interdisciplinary programs such as Ethnic Studies and Peace & Conflict Studies.

The College of Business and Public Affairs offers programs in business, political science, and social science.  WCU’s business program is one of thirty percent of institutions in the U.S. accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).

The College of Education continues to provide one of the most popular programs at WCU.  Its offices and classes are primarily housed in historic Recitation Hall, which was part of the original West Chester Normal School built in 1871.

The College of Visual and Performing Arts includes the Departments of Art + Design, Theatre and Dance, and Music.  Regular gallery exhibits and performances are held in the recently updated E.O. Bull Center for the Arts.  The Swope Music building houses the Department of Music’s classrooms, practice rooms, and music library.  It also is the venue for many musical and theatrical performances.

The College of Health Sciences offers students learning opportunities through simulation and practical experience.  Its academic programs are accredited where available from a total of twelve accrediting bodies.  Popular programs include Kinesiology, Nursing, and Sports Medicine.

Student Services

There are many services available to students attending West Chester University.  In this video, we’ll take a look at several of them.

The main location for student dining is the Lawrence Center.  Here, the Lawrence Dining Hall offers cafeteria style dining every day of the week.  The Diner is open extra hours for late night meals and snacks.

Here on the second floor of the Lawrence Center you’ll find offices dedicated to helping students plan their college career and do well in classes.  Tutoring, pre-major advising, and help for students with disabilities are just a few of their services.

WCU’s Public Safety officers regularly patrol campus and residence halls.  If it’s late and you don’t want to walk alone, officers are available to escort you to or from any location on campus.

It’s a great idea to start thinking about your career while you’re attending WCU.  The Twardowski Career Development Center helps students explore career paths and find jobs.

The Offices of the Bursar, Registrar and Financial Aid are located in the Kershner Student Service Center.  Students visit these offices to pay their WCU bills, register for classes, and find help in applying for grants, loans and scholarships.

These are just a few of the many services available to students attending WCU.  If you’d like to learn more, visit our website at and click “Current Students” near the top of the page.

Campus Housing

West Chester University offers students many options for housing.  In this video, we’ll take a look at where you can live on-campus.

On North Campus, students can choose from traditional dorms, modern dorms, and apartments.  Our traditional dorms have all you need for on-campus living.  The newer, apartment-style dorms feature more modern living options like swipe card access, central air, and fully equipped fitness centers.  Finally, the College Arms Apartments offer a traditional apartment experience, and is conveniently located near the heart of campus.

South Campus is home to three of our student housing communities, which are just a short shuttle bus ride away. The South Campus Apartment Complex was the first to be built followed by the Village apartments.  The East Village apartment complex was recently added in 2013.  All three communities are located near our athletic fields and Farrell Stadium.
