Praxis

The LARC now offers review sessions for students who need to take the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST I). Reviews for the reading, writing, and math portions of the Praxis exam are offered by experienced LARC tutors. Sessions during the academic year are ten weeks long. Review sessions offered during summer sessions and over breaks are accelerated; cumulatively, the sessions cover the skills, material, and techniques that will enable students to take and pass the PPST I.

Topics include:

  • Critical thinking required for writing clear essays and for accurately evaluating what mathematical operation is needed
  • Test-taking techniques
  • Specific content and skills covered by the writing and math tests

Sessions are generally held during the ten weeks prior to each exam.  Information about the Praxis itself, contact the School of Education at 610-436-2321.  For more information about the Praxis review sessions, contact the LARC at 610-436-2535.  Non West Chester Students may register and take the sessions for a nominal fee.
