West Chester University of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Admissions for Multicultural Student Recruitment. This is a permanent, 12 month position reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

  • Assuming a leadership role in developing, implementing, and monitoring all aspects of multicultural student recruitment and yield activities
  • Actively working with the Black Student Union, Latino American Student Organization, Office of Multicultural Affairs and other campus constituencies to organize a recruitment team of currently enrolled WCU students to assist in recruitment and yield initiatives.
  • Evaluating admissions applications and making admissions decisions
  • Building relationships with high school counselors and community organizations and leaders who assist in out-reach to multicultural students and their families
  • Visiting high schools and representing the university at college day/night programs and regional and national fairs
  • Planning campus visitations for high schools, community organizations, prospective and accepted multicultural students
  • Conducting interviews, group sessions, responding to phone calls and written correspondence.

    Successful candidates must have a Bachelors degree, a minimum of two years of professional experience in higher education admissions or a related field, and a valid drivers license. Excellent organizational and communication skills, specific experience in recruiting multicultural students, connections with community organizations that assist multicultural students prepare for higher education, and fluency in Spanish are preferred.

    The starting salary for this position is $41,917and includes an excellent benefits package. Applicants must successfully complete the interview process to be considered a finalist.
