The Department of Health at West Chester University of Pennsylvania is seeking an Instructor/Assistant Professor to join our Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE)-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), and the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)-accredited Masters of Public Health (MPH) program. The position is a full-time, tenure-track position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications: Doctorate in nutrition or related field (health science, public health, health education, health behavior, exercise physiology) required, but ABD with contractual requirement to finish the doctorate by the end of the 2011-2012 school year will be considered. Dietetic Registration (RD) required. Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred. College-level teaching experience preferred, with emphasis in exercise nutrition desirable. Work experience in exercise nutrition and/or clinical nutrition preferred. Finalists must successfully complete a campus interview and teaching presentation. References with contact information will be required prior to interview.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in the DPD including, but not limited to, basic nutrition, and nutrition and culture. Teach graduate courses in the MPH program including, but not limited to, nutrition assessment and human nutrition. In addition, teach undergraduate and graduate sports nutrition and consumer nutrition. Each semester the individual will have teaching responsibilities in the DPD/MPH program. Administrative duties assigned as needed. Conduct research and other types of scholarly activity. Commitment to seek external funding. Advise DPD and MPH students. Provide service to the department, university, and community.
