Transportation & Parking
Familiarize yourself with various transportation
options for traveling around the West Chester
Community and with the parking regulations for
West Chester University and the Borough. Car pooling
and taking the campus shuttle can help you save
on expenses. While obeying the parking laws can
prevent you from receiving a ticket or having
your car towed. The options below provide detailed
information about your various traveling and parking
options.
Transportation
Problems:
If your vehicle should break down while you are
on campus, CAOS has provided oil, de-icer and
other quick fixers at the Sykes Information Desk.
If the problem is more serious call Public Safety
at 436-3311.
Transportation To and From
Campus: Alternative transportation
to, from, and around campus is available if your
car should break down or if you would simply like
to save on gas expenses. Public transportation
and the campus shuttle bus are two examples of
alternative transportation available to you.
For more information about finding the bus and
train routes convenient for you, call Septa Information
at (215) 574-7800, visit the Septa
website, or visit the Off-Campus and Commuter
Life Office in 116 Sykes.
Transportation around
Campus: For those of you who are
parking or taking classes at South Campus, the
shuttle busses are a great asset. You can catch
the bus in front of Ehringer Gym on Church Street
in front of Wayne Hall on Rosedale Street, and
in front of the Health and Physical Education
building in South Campus. The buses also stop
at "Q" lot (next to Farrell Stadium),
and at the apartment complex in South Campus.
For a complete listing and map of the bus routes
and stops, go to the public safety building. Note:
No bus service is provided when the university
is not in session (for example, during Thanksgiving
recess, December/January semester break and spring
break). Bus service will reactivate Sunday evening
when a session begins again on a Monday. There
is no bus service during the summer.
For complete information on where you may park,
please read the Public Safety Brochure.
Borough Parking
Both residential permits can be purchased at the
Municipal Building at 401 E. Gay Street. Student
permits may be helpful; however, space is limited
and fines are expensive. A valid driver’s license,
auto registration, and WCU ID is required.

I.D.
2) Make sure the driver has a valid driver’s
license.
