Cancellation/Postponement Information – Events and other WCU-related functions

Generally, should adverse weather conditions make it inadvisable to operate the University, all University-related events or functions will also be cancelled. The WCU homepage at http://www.wcupa.edu will carry the most up-to-date and specific information regarding event cancellation or postponement notices.

 

Persons attending events scheduled to occur at the University by non-University organizations should contact their event organizer for cancellation information.


SPECIAL EVENTS

Friday, Nov. 20, 6 to 8 p.m. “No Night Without a Telescope” stargazing sessions celebrate the International Year of Astronomy. West Chester astronomers will set up telescopes so anyone will be able to take a closer look at Jupiter, star clusters, the moon and other phenomena. Academic Quad. Thursday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m. Las Posadas: A Traditional Mexican Festival. This semester’s events in “The Big Read” program come to a close with a family-friendly Mexican holiday tradition hosted by the Chester County Historical Society, 225 North High Street, West Chester. Saturday, Dec. 5, 8 p.m. West Chester University’s Theatre and Dance Department hosts the 10th Annual AIDS Benefit to raise awareness and funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Friday, Nov. 20, through Sunday, Nov. 22. The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Chester County presents The Pirates of Penzance, or The Slave of Duty. Four West Chester University students are among the cast members: Ashley Ray (Mabel), Dan Moyer (Frederic), Derek Hess (Samuel) and Christina O’Brien (Kate).
