West Chester University -- 125 Years

[Old Wayne Hall]

Old Wayne Hall

Old Wayne Hall, the first all male dormitory on campus, was constructed in 1911. The serpentine stone building was located on the corner of Church Street and Rosedale Ave. on the site currently occupied by the Schmucker Science Center. The building was demolished in the 1960's to make way for the Science Center. A new Wayne Hall opened in 1971 on Rosedale Avenue.

The photographs show the Church Street facade of the building. The large photograph was taken in 1936 and the smaller photograph attached to it was taken in 1961.
