… [Lawrence’s] next venture in translation was self-aborted.
Cape had offered him…Sturly by Pierre Custor….On Christmas Day,
1923, he wrote Cape that he had wanted to send the completed work as a
Christmas present, but that it was not yet ready. "I’m afraid I’m not good
as a translator, …indeed what the hell I am good for God only Knows."
