1. Before powering up the projector, connect the laptop or VCR to the supplied cable(s) attached to the interface box. The VGA (15-pin) cable connects to the back of your laptop and is larger on one side than the other. Match the correct pins with the laptop and screw in the retaining screws to hold it in place. The cable also has a 1/8" audio plug that attaches to the audio out jack (headphone jack) on the laptop. If you are using the campus network, plug the LAN cable into to network card on the laptop. Note: The laptop must have a LAN card installed and be properly configured for access to the campus network.
To attach the VCR, use the supplied RCA cables and attach the red cable to the right audio out, the white cable to the left audio out and the black cable to the video out on the VCR.
2. Press the "Power" button or any source button (PC, VCR, and S-VIDEO) on the control box located on the wall next to the computer desk. The projector will come on and take about one minute to come up to full brightness.
Press the associated source button for the input you would like to project (PC, VCR, or S-Video). You can jog between a VCR and a Laptop image if they are both attached.
To adjust the volume, you must first power the control box by pressing the power button. Once the power button has been pressed, you will hear a click. At that time, the volume can be adjusted using the volume control on the control box. An adjusting bar will appear on the screen to show the volume level.
Note: If you still do not hear audio out of your laptop, make sure that the volume control on the side of the laptop is turned up. Turning the projector off:
Press and hold the "OFF" button on the wall mounted control box (about 5 seconds) until you see the message "Please wait a moment" appear on the screen. Once this message appears on the screen, the projector will shut off automatically.
Note: If you do not see the message on the screen, the projector has not been shut off. Repeat instructions after the green light on the control box goes off.
If you have any problems with the equipment, please call the Help Desk at x3350.
