Workplace Bullying Learning Opportunities

Workplace bullying takes an enormous toll on organizations and their employees.  This fall, Dr. Leah Hollis, author of Bully in the Ivory Tower, will be on campus working with different groups to address workplace bullying issues in higher education and possible solutions based on her research. Funded through a University Forum Grant and Human Resources, Dr. Hollis will engage managers and supervisors, academic chairs and administrators, faculty and staff through presentation, dialogue and case study. We are pleased to announce West Chester University is offering free seasonal flu vaccines to all employees.

PEBTF Open Enrollment: October 7 to October 25

Please note the significant “buy-up” contribution increases for employees hired on or after 08/01/2003:
o   Single Coverage for Full-Time PPO for 2013 is $21.38 biweekly and is increasing to $29.13 biweekly for 2014
o   Multi-Party Full-Time PPO for 2013 is $54.08 biweekly and is increasing to $75.08 biweekly for 2014
o   Part-Time employee coverage costs are also increasing significantly as indicated on the rate sheets

Dependents to Age 26 – Eligibility Change
·  Effective January 1, 2014, the requirement, “Is the dependent eligible for other employer-sponsored health coverage (other than through a parent),” will be removed.
· Effective January 1, 2014, employees may cover an eligible dependent provided that dependent is under age 26.

Preventing Leg Injuries

Minor leg injuries are common and often develop from every day wear and tear, overuse, or an injury. Injuries can also result from poor muscle balance, lack of flexibility, or weakness in soft tissues.  By keeping the muscles and joints of the legs strong and flexible the likelihood of leg injuries can be reduced.
