17-19  Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Early Childhood/Special Education

Cheyney University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Education and Professional Studies invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Early Childhood/Special Education responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Early Childhood Education/Special Education, developmental reading/writing, distance education, advising students and supervision of student teachers and/or field experiences. Success in the position requires excellence in teaching, experience/knowledge of Trauma Informed Educational Studies, scholarly growth and a commitment to university/community service. Teaching assignments include both Main Campus and Center City location. The position is available summer 2017.


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctorate in early childhood/special education or closely related field with at least three (3) years pre-K/12 teaching experience and certification required.
• ABD with completion of all degree requirements by December 2017 considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Undergraduate and graduate teaching experience preferred.
• Candidates with experience working with diverse populations and expertise in online technology, urban education, and experience/knowledge of Trauma Informed Educational Studies.
• ELL (English Language Learners) Certification highly desirable.
