South Africa has the highest infection rate of HIV/AIDS of any country in
the world, with nearly 1,000 citizens dying every day. The
country is home to over 2 million orphans.
Further, 61% of the nation's 18 million children live in poverty, many enduring
entire days without food.
Aid to South Africa is unique in that it brings together WCU students, faculty, and the surrunding community.
The event is geared towards all ages: children throught adults. We encourage everyone to attend.
The event will host a collection of live musical preformers, walk around entertianers, fair games,
and food. For a complete list of our entertainment schedule, click here.
Team members will pledge through a registration fee, dedicate their time, and
take turns walking the track. However, Aid to South Africa is open to the
entire public; anyone may attend at any time.
Who Benefits?
All proceeds from donations, sponsorships, and the event will benefit the
H.E.L.P. Ministries Soup Kitchen and Sparrow Village in South Africa.
