The Parents' Fund
As a parent to a WCU student you are a dynamic force for advancement of key initiatives across the University. Your involvement,
through the WCU Annual Fund, helps us maintain a focus on our top priority: students. We encourage you to remain actively involved in
your student’s educational experience while forging a meaningful relationship with the University.
The Parents’ Fund, a critical portion of the WCU Annual Fund, began as an effort to support special projects on campus, specifically those influencing
quality in the day-to-day experiences of your child. These projects are designed to promote, satisfy, comfort, and create a home away from
home for those you care most about.
Past Parents’ Fund projects have included:
- Emergency telephones strategically located around campus
- Computers in the residence halls
- Automatic external defibrillators in locations frequented by students
- Enhancements to recreational areas
- Contributions to the Student Affairs Endowment, which helps to fund the Pride/Wellness Center, Student Leaders,
Residence Life, and Orientation Leaders
- Electronic kiosks with an interactive campus map, scrolling information board, and a phone to provide up to the
minute support from the University Help Desk

For fiscal year 2006, $30,000 was raised in support of this fund. These gifts were used to create an endowed
scholarship that rewards student leaders who participate in community service. The scholarship will exist in perpetuity.
As part of the University family, parents represent a critical group that has a profound interest in WCU, its students, and the work the
University performs on their behalf. If you would like to learn more about the Parents’ Fund please contact Sara C. Baumgardner, Assistant Director of Annual Giving.
The Senior Brick Project
Congratulations to senior students and parents!
We know you are proud of your future West Chester University alum. From 8:00 am classes to late-night cram sessions, your student has been given the academic and social tools that he or she needs to succeed in the world today. We invite you to help your student leave a lasting impression on the WCU campus.
The Senior Brick Project was designed to allow parents to honor their students and show support to a University that was a home-away-from-home for the past few years, while also raising funds for future WCU students. A $100 gift to the Parents’ Fund will put your student’s name and class year on a brick under the historic Old Main Hall archway on High Street. Please contact Sara C. Baumgardner to make a gift honoring your graduating student.
Please complete this form to request your brick!
