Kathryn MacMillan has been an adjunct instructor in the Department of Theatre and Dance since 2006. Kathryn is a company member of Philadelphia’s Lantern Theater Company and a freelance director in the Philadelphia region. She has been with the Lantern since 2001 and the company’s Associate Artistic Director since 2009. Directing for the Lantern: The Liar, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Private Lives, Uncle Vanya, The Skull in Connemara, The Breath of Life (two Barrymore awards and five nominations, including Outstanding Overall Production of a Play), The Hothouse (Barrymore nods include Direction & Outstanding Production), The School for Wives, QED, and The Lady from the Sea. Recent regional credits include Little Gem (Inis Nua); How I Learned to Drive, The Violet Hour, The Laramie Project (Theatre Horizon); The Miser (Commonwealth Classic Theatre Company) and The Bends with Flashpoint Theatre Company.
