Department of Theatre & Dance On The Move

The Department of Theatre and Dance will be changing locations come January 2009. In anticipation of the renovation of their current location, the E.O. Bull Center, Theatre & Dance will be relocated to Anderson Hall during the holiday break and remain there through Summer 2010. The main office and classes will be located on Anderson’s first floor, Theatre and Dance faculty offices will be located on Anderson’s third floor and the department computer lab will be located on Anderson’s ground floor.

The E.O. Bull Center will be renovated to provide room for both the Department of Theatre and Dance and the Department of Art, completing the idea of an arts complex on West Chester’s campus that started with the opening of the new Swope School of Music building and the Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre. After the renovation, Theatre and Dance will have two new dance studios, acting and rehearsal spaces, design labs, and classrooms in addition to the two current theatre spaces, the Mainstage and the JP Adler Studio Theatre.

The current production season has accommodated the transition with the musical tick…tick…Boom (Feb 12-15, 2009) and the University Dance Company concert Exploring the Spectrum (April 17-19, 2009) going up in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall and Trojan Women (March 26-29, 2009) being produced in the Madeline Wing Adler Theatre.

For more information, please contact the Department of Theatre and Dance at 610-436-3463.
