The Global Hispanic Film Festival will resume in Fall 2024!

The Global Hispanic Film Festival hosted by WCU's Department of Languages and Cultures during Hispanic Heritage Month exposes students to a wide range of unfamiliar realities concerning Latin America, Spain, North Africa, and Latinos/as in the United States. Free and open to the public! #CineWCU

Five films address localized and universal themes such as globalization, postcolonialism, social inequality, migration and borders, indigenous cultures, racism, sexism, sexual diversity, gender, disability, historical memory, political activism and solidarity. These diverse themes are discussed before and after film viewings to draw critical connections to our lives in Pennsylvania. The films then become part of a Special Collection of films available to the community at WCU’s Main Library.
