Workshops

Many of our workshops are open to any eco-tourist interested in amateur birding, orchid and plant diversity, environmental conservation, archaeology, cultural diversity and adventure.  Those workshops marked with an asterisk (*) are open to all.

In a partnership with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society

Visit the Manu Cloud Forest at Wayqecha, the Sacred City of Machu Picchu and the city of Cusco.

Cost:  $3,995 from Lima (Double Occupancy)  Price includes a $200 tax deductible donation to the PHS.

*Institute for Emerging Sustainability Leaders:  Education for Sustainability Workshop in Peru

June 24 - July 6, 2012 - This workshop recruits participants from North and South America and then engages them in an immersive experience in the Peruvian Andes and the rainforest of the Amazon Basin.

Submit preliminary applications via e-mail by Friday, February 24th to Dr. Paul Morgan (pmorgan@wcupa.edu).

Your e-mail should briefly:

  • explain why you want to participate in the Institute for Emerging Sustainability Leaders
  • list knowledge, skills, work, and course experiences related to this year's theme:  education for sustainability
  • address your degree of understanding and interest in sustainability and/or sustainable development

Trip Cost:  $2,450 from Lima (Double Occupancy).  International airfare not included.  Some partial scholarships available.

Final Registration and $500 Deposit Deadline for Selected Applicants:  March 24, 2012

Balance of Payment Deadline:  April 24, 2012

Undergraduate and Graduate credit available through West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Prices vary – some workshops are priced from Lima, others are all inclusive (international airfare, transportation, hotels, food, guides.)  Price adjustments are available for departures from other cities.  Academic credit is available from West Chester University (unless indicated otherwise,) and WCU will PREPAY any Amazon Workshop for WCU students who may repay in easy installments.
All prices are subject to change until booked and ticketed.

Academic Credit, CEUs and CMEs are available for workshops as warranted.

Continuing Medical Education: The College of Health Sciences at West Chester University of Pennsylvania is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
