Establish a premier combination of natural sciences laboratories dedicated to the study of ancient
biomaterials and their preservation
serve as a single dedicated site for higher level analytical activities on all types of biomaterials
provide guidance for finding additional materials by understanding the unique combination of physical,
geochemical, microbiological and environmental conditions that foster preservation
provide state-of-the-art clean room and laboratory facilities for extraction and study of ancient biomaterials.
