Ms. Aneesah Smith
Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs for LGBTQA Services and Special Projects

Ms. Aneesah S. Smith is a proud graduate of West Chester University, obtaining a B.S. in Health Education in 2002 and M.S. in Counseling/Higher Education 2005. Ms. Smith brings to WCU an excellent background in University work (in both Student Life and Academic Affairs), and previous employment experiences included service at Penn State University (Reading) as an Educational Opportunity Program Coordinator, at Rosemont College as a Coordinator of Academic Advising, at Temple University where Aneesah served as a Program Coordinator and Academic Advisor, and most recently at the Community College of Philadelphia in her role as the Coordinator of the Peer Connection program. Ms. Smith has experience serving as an Advisor to LGBT student groups, and Aneesah has coordinated programs and presentations on diversity, LBGTQA issues, Alcohol & Drug concerns, Sexual Violence/Interpersonal. As a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. since 2000 Ms. Smith has served in several leadership positions both at a undergraduate and graduate level. She was also inducted and has maintained memberships into Chi Alpha Epsilon, Gamma Sigma Alpha, and Chi Sigma Iota which all speak to her academic achievements. Aneesah is a proud member of the LGBTQA community and is passionate about advocating for students, faculty and staff. In the years to come here at WCU she hopes to bring a positive enthusiastic energy to the Division as well as empower students to be the change they want to see.
