General Information about Campus Reservations
Reservations for student groups for any campus space are made through Sykes Union. Faculty and staff may make reservations for Sykes Union, directly through Sykes Reservations, but all other campus space must be made through Space Management.

Assignment of Space
Reservations are confirmed on a space available basis. Groups will be assigned to space based on the information listed on the form. Sykes Union reserves the right to reassign rooms to best accommodate all groups.

Audio / Visual and Computer Equipment
If you plan to use an audio, video, computer or any other equipment please inform us when you reserve a room.


Meeting Rooms from 0-20 people:

Room 250
This room located on the second floor of Sykes is ideal for executive boards and small conference group meetings.  This is due its quiet location and the fact that there are no windows in this room. This room can hold approximately 8 people at an small rectangular conference table nicely appointed with comfortable chairs.

Room 251
This room located on the second floor of Sykes is ideal for executive board and smaller conference group meetings.  This is due its quiet location and the fact that there are no windows in this room. This room can hold approximately 18 people at an oval conference table nicely appointed with comfortable chairs..

Room 257
This luxuriously appointed conference room is located in the back hall of the second floor. The beautiful custom hardwood table in combination with the high-back executive chairs make for a very professional conference atmosphere. The maximum occupancy for this conference room is 18, making it large enough for a good-sized group, yet small enough to maintain an intimate ambiance.  The room is equipped with a Smart Board interactive whiteboard with projection and sound for enhanced technology needs.

Room 303
This small seminar room is located in the main hall of the third floor. It can accommodate a conference set of 6 people. This room is ideal for small discussion and study groups. A small window that overlooks the campus provides pleasant natural lighting.

Room 304
This is a slightly larger seminar room located on the third floor of Sykes. It is in the center of the main hall of the third floor, located next to its twin, room 305. This room can accommodate a conference of 10 people. It also contains a large window that provides a nice view of the campus.

Room 305
This is a slightly larger seminar room located on the third floor of Sykes. It is in the center of the main hall of the third floor, located next to its twin, room 304. This room can accommodate a conference of 10 people. It also contains a large window that provides a nice view of the campus.

Room 306
This small seminar room is located in the main hall of the third floor. It can accommodate a conference set of 6 people. This room is ideal for small discussion and study groups.


Meeting Rooms from 20-80 people:

Room 209
Located just off the main stairs in the lobby area of the second floor, this room is excellent for lectures and presentations. As one of the largest conference rooms in the building, this room can comfortably seat approximately 45 in a lecture setting. This in combination with its convenient location make room 209 a popular choice for all. The room is equipped with a Smart Board interactive whiteboard with projection and sound for enhanced technology needs.

Room 210
Also conveniently located just off the main stairs, room 210 is slightly smaller than its neighbor, room 209. This provides the ideal atmosphere for lectures and presentations for groups of approximately 35. A nice addition to this room is that the rear wall of glass overlooks the first floor TV lounge, contributing to a light and airy atmosphere.

Room 252
This room is the largest 2nd floor room that Sykes has to offer. When opened up, it can accommodate a lecture of 75 and a conference of 28 people. When separated, room A works well as a conference set for 16, and room B can have a conference set of 12. This room is ideal for large presentations in which maximum space is required.

Room 254
This medium-sized room is located in the far corner of the second floor. The room can comfortably accommodate a conference of 16 and a lecture of approximately 30. Upon entering this room you will be pleased with the natural lighting that the multiple windows provide.

Room 255
This room is the next largest 2nd floor room in Sykes. When opened into one room, it will accommodate 70 in a lecture setting and 24 in a conference setting. When separated, room A & B can each accommodate a conference of 12 and a lecture of 30. This room also contains windows that provide a nice atmosphere for any occasion.


Meeting Rooms for 80 or more people:

Ballrooms A, B, and C
These three rooms form one of our most versatile facilities in Sykes Union.  They can be prepared for lectures, banquets, dances, or group activities, both large and small. As one large ballroom, we can accommodate groups as large as 500 people for lectures, and banquet seating up to 240. Each ballroom is equipped with internal sound and basic house lighting. Ballroom C provides the user with a large screen and overhead projection that can be used for various visual programs. Ballroom B is especially suited for those programs that seek to minimize distractions as well as natural light due to its enclosed design. Ballroom A offers two grand doors that open into the lobby, which can be opened, entice passers by to come and see what event is taking place.

Theater
Located on the ground floor, the theater can comfortably fit up to 352 people. It is the location for our weekly movie series, sponsored by the Student Activities Council, since it comes equipped with digital projection and wide screen viewing with Dolby 6.1 Surround Sound.  The room is also ideal for visual presentations, lectures, small performances that do not require off stage areas.  The stage is 32 feet wide by 7’ deep.

NOTE: All of the meeting and seminar rooms contain LAN (Local Area Network) connections, phone line jacks, electrical outlets, cork boards, screens, and dry erase boards. They are also wireless.  Markers and erasers are available at the Sykes Information Desk.
