Read Across America

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child."

The National Education Association's “Read Across America” is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 1, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. Each year The Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs teams up with local schools or day care centers to read to children and celebrate Dr. Seuss and literacy! This year we will be working with the Oscar Lasko YMCA Youth Programs Center and the West Chester Area Day Care Center. You can sign up for a one hour shift or from 10am - Noon. To sign up you can either stop by the Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs in Killinger Hall room B19 or you can email Skye Hisiro at SH740281@wcupa.edu.
