Bayard Rustin Scholarship
The Bayard
Rustin Book Scholarship:
The scholarship is a selective scholarship that was
developed by West Chester University’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
and Transgender Concerns Committee. The mission of the
committee is to identify and address issues of concern for LGBT
faculty, staff, and students at West Chester University. The
scholarship will consist of a $250 award each semester for the
purchase of the recipient’s textbooks.
Application Requirements:
The scholarship will be awarded to students who:
- Have a
minimum GPA of 3.0
- Have a
least 30 credits completed

Willingness to attend LGBTQA meetings
- Actively
participate in the LGBTQA , LGBT services, or Ally Program
- Have an
understanding of the issue of diversity as it relates to
sexual orientation (to be determined by the application and
interview)
The LGBT
Concerns Committee will review and select the scholarship
recipient's). The Bayard Rustin Book Scholarship will be
presented to the recipient's) at the spring LGBT awards
ceremony.
