Loving You!

With Valentine’s Day falling right in the middle of the month, February is often thought of as the month of love. Everyone is trying to figure out the best way to show their love to their loved ones but they often forget about the most important person… Themselves!

Before you can have a healthy happy relationship with anyone else, you have to have one with yourself. You can start by taking some time to really get to know yourself. What are your likes and dislikes? Do you prefer horror movies over sci-fi, Chinese over Italian food? Learn to forgive yourself for any regrets or mistakes you have made in the past. If you hold on to these things it only leads to bitterness. Next, take control of your happiness! You cannot depend on others to do it for you. If you are unhappy ask yourself why and work to improve it.

This month I challenge you to take the time to invest in your most valuable relationship, the one you have with yourself. The relationship you have with yourself sets the tone of all other relationships in your life.

First Step: Make a list of at least 5 things that you love about yourself. Put it somewhere that you look often like a bathroom mirror or drawer to remind yourself about how great you are!
