Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing
The Student Health Center can test you for various STI's during an appointment for STI Testing. Testing is done either free or at a low cost. Most STI results are available in 2 weeks.

The Student Health Center offers the HPV vaccine for both men and women. This vaccine protects against the 2 main types of HPV that cause cervical cancer in women and the 2 main types that cause genital warts. Protect yourself and your partner and call for an appointment for the HPV vaccine. |
When a woman becomes sexually active or at age 21, whichever comes first, annual gynecology examinations are advised. Pap testing should begin at age 21. Testing for STI's can also be done during this visit.
Some women think that when they have a pelvic examination, they are being tested for "everything." Discuss the types of tests being performed with you health care provider.
Note: You should try to schedule your appointment for a time when you are NOT menstruating, Also, do not use vaginal creams for 48 hours before your appointment for an annual exam.
