Our staff of Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians provides primary medical care for West Chester University Students. We are well equipped to manage the illnesses and injuries common to a student population.
Students are seen by appointment. If you arrive without an appointment a nurse will talk with you to determine the severity of your illness or concern.
Laboratory services are available based on the need determined by the Student Health Center provider. Lab work cannot be performed based on orders from outside medical providers.
We have a dispensary with medications that are frequently prescribed and some over-the-counter medications. For a list of local pharmacies, click here.
We can dispense medication ordered by a health center clinician but cannot dispense medication ordered by an outside clinician.
The cost of services rendered outside the Student Health Center is the responsibility of the student.
If you participate with an HMO plan, you may need approval from your Primary Physician in order to cover the cost of these services.
It is the responsibility of each student to understand his or her insurance policy and bring a copy of the insurance card to school.
The closest local emergency care is available at Chester County Hospital, which is 2.19 miles away. For a list of other local hospitals, click here
