5 Steps to Financial Aid @ WCU

Step 5: Using your financial aid to pay your on and off-campus Bills

Our relationship with the Bursar's Office-

Once you are registered for your classes the Bursar’s Office will generate a bill for your upcoming semester/session at WCU. Bursar's office (610) 436-2552.

  • This bill will only include those charges that represent services you will receive from WCU.
  • If you plan to live in property not owned by WCU the charges will not appear on your bill.                  YOU will need to make payment arrangements with the Non-affiliated housing provider directly.

Student loans that are not accepted will not appear on your billing statement or your ACCOUNT SUMMARY screen, provided by the Bursar’s Office, via MYWCU.

To ACCEPT or Decline your aid log into to MYWCU on www.wcupa.edu. Remember that changes to your enrollment or housing status may change your financial aid package.

Review your bill and anticipated aid-

  • If your anticipated aid exceeds your charges use the “ACTIVATE” your account function provided  by the Bursar’s Office, by logging into myWCU.
  • If your aid does not exceed your charges contact the Bursar’s Office to make payment arrangements.

Even if you and/or your parents plan to apply for additional aid it is still a good idea to make payment arrangements with the Bursar’s office until the additional aid appears as part of your aid package.

Failure to satisfy your financial obligation via the processes provided by the Bursar’s Office, will result in the cancellation of your class schedule. If your classes are dropped there is no guarantee that you will be able to regain your original schedule.

Book vouchers and refund checks - Issued by the Bursar's office.

Bookstore Vouchers-

  • Students that have anticipated aid, in excess of the charges on their account summary, may obtain a bookstore Voucher from the Bursar's office to purchase books. Normally during the first week of the enrollment period.

Refund checks-

  • Are available once the student’s financial aid has been posted to the account as an actual payment.

Normally at the beginning of each enrollment period.

  • Refunds will not be issued if your verification is not complete.
  • Refunds are issued to help students pay for educational expenses that are not charged directly by the university but are incurred as a result of enrollment in classes.Watch Video
