Secure Your Aid

It is important that you take the steps necessary to actually receive the funds you have been offered. Don’t lose your aid by failing to follow through on what needs to be done. Changes to your enrollment status or housing arrangement may cause changes to your financial aid package, so please notify us as soon as the changes happen.

Federal Grants

  • Federal Grants do not require any action on your part, as we assume you would like to "ACCEPT" the funds offered to you from these programs.
  • Changes to your enrollment may change your award.

PA State Grant

  • PA State Grant – You may need to contact the PA Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA).
  • Changes to your enrollment may change your award.
  • If your record is selected by the State Grant division for Validation review, please comply.
  • • If your State Grant record is incomplete, you may loss potential grant monies by not responding.

Federal Work Study Student Employment

  • Return your contract by the due date.
  • Federal Work Study will not appear on your bill.
  • Positions are in high demand and there are students on the wait list waiting for the opportunity.
  • Complete your payroll paperwork so you can report to work and earn your award.

"Verification"

  • Check your financial aid alerts by logging into myWCU.
  • Your Federal Financial Aid is "tentative" and subject to change until this process is complete.
  • Monies needed to pay USH and off-campus housing expenses will not be released to the student.
  • Your aid cannot be posted/paid to your account.
  • Outstanding accounts may have services suspended and holds assigned by the Bursar's office.

Activate your Account

  • Take action on your bill.
  • If your "tentative" aid exceeds the amount of your bill, you should activate your account. This Activates your financial aid.
  • If your tentative aid does not cover the amount of your bill, you should pay the balance or establish a payment plan.

Continue to take the steps to secure your aid and keep your aid in the future, such as knowing your rights and responsibilities.
We wish you much success and remember that We Are Here To Help.
