How many classes are offered a week by Group Fitness?
There are between 35-45 classes offered every week in a semester. Classes are offered 7 days a week!

What do I need to do to be able to participate in Group Fitness?
You must register for group fitness classes and pay through the SSI Window located outside of Sykes Fitness Center. Here, you will receive an AERO sticker to be placed on the back of your student ID card. You must show your ID with AERO sticker before participating in any Group Fitness classes.

How much does Group Fitness cost?
Group Fitness costs $20 per semester OR $35 for the year!

Where is Group Fitness located?
Group Fitness is located on the 2nd floor through Sykes Fitness Center.

Where do I register for Group Fitness Classes?
Registration forms can be found at the Fitness Center’s front desk or at the SSI Window outside of the Fitness Center. Fill out the registration form and submit it to the SSI Window.

How difficult or strenuous are the classes?
Difficulty depends on the class and personal fitness levels. Class descriptions can be found on the back of the Group Fitness class schedule or online.

How do I become a Group Fitness Instructor?
You can become a Group Fitness Instructor by filling out our application online. Submit your application to the Group Fitness Coordinator. Group Fitness Instructor Training starts at the end of the spring semester. Assessment will be made at the end of training through a written test and practical.

What kind of training have the Group Fitness Instructors had?
Our Group Fitness Instructors have been trained through WCU Instructor Training. Most instructors have also received their Primary Aerobics Instructor Certification through AAAI/ISMA. Select instructors have furthered their certifications including Zumba, Zumba Tone, Russian Kettlebell Challenge, Hardstyle Kettlebell, and BODYPUMP.
