Veteran & Active Military Admission Procedures and Requirements

Freshman Veteran & Active Military Applicants

Veterans and active military applicants who have not enrolled in any postsecondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen.

How to Apply

Apply Online* or
Paper Application
To request a paper application contact the Office of Admissions at UGAdmiss@wcupa.edu or call 610-436-3411
  1. Pay a $45 non-refundable application fee online by credit card. If you are eligible to use an application fee waiver, please refer to the WCU Fee Waiver Policy.
  2. Complete the application for admission, including a personal statement.
  3. Submit an official high school transcript. Request an official high school transcript from your guidance counselor, which lists your senior year courses. If you are a homeschooled applicant, submit an official transcript issued by the Pennsylvania Homeschoolers Accreditation Agency (PHAA) or official documentation that your current curriculum has been approved by your state's Board of Education.
  4. Send official SAT or ACT scores. It is the applicant's responsibility to send the Office of Admissions the official results of the SAT or ACT. Test scores imprinted on an official high school transcript are also acceptable. ACT scores imprinted on an official high school transcript must include all sub scores, along with a composite score. If you graduated from high school more than five years ago, it is not necessary to submit SAT or ACT scores; however, an official high school transcript is required.
  5. Submit General Equivalency Diploma (GED), if required. Students who received a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) must forward their official score report, an official high school transcript, and SAT or ACT results to the Office of Admissions. If you received the GED more than five years ago, it is not necessary to submit SAT or ACT scores.
  6. Submit to the Office of Admissions all official military transcripts.
  7. Please review the following tips before completing your online admissions application.

*It is the applicant's responsibility to supply the Office of Admissions with the necessary documents to complete his or her application. The Office of Admissions reserves the right to withdraw an application if the required information is not received.

Program of Study Special Notes

  • Undeclared: Due to the competitive nature and enrollment limitations of some academic programs, we offer the opportunity to indicate a second choice of major. If you are undecided about the program of study you wish to pursue, you can select the Pre-Major Program (Undeclared).
  • BSN Nursing: Freshman applicants interested in the BSN Nursing (freshmen only) program must apply early in the fall of their senior year. Please note, transferring into the Nursing program as a current WCU student is unlikely to occur.

Merit Scholarships

In order to be considered for merit scholarships students should apply for admission early in the fall of their senior year and be accepted no later than January 15. Applicants eligible for scholarship consideration will be notified with further information.
