Have you been struggling to manage the demands of teaching reading effectively and still create a love of literature in your students? If you have, then this is the perfect course for you. You will learn multiple strategies for establishing and maintaining a classroom community of readers. You will learn what matters to children's reading lives, what children need to know about strategic reading, how to assess and move your students forward, and how to ensure your students comprehend and develop a lifelong love of reading. We will focus on building a literate community, the importance of involving students in read-alouds, independent reading, conferring, and assessment.
