The Power of Place. Teachers and children investigate, read, write, and talk about the stories a place can tell. This two-day, one-credit course held at The Highlands and the Hope Lodge in Fort Washington is uniquely designed for teachers of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. They will observe and participate with children as they read, write and talk about the people, places, and activities of the past. Go beyond the textbook in search of answers to make history come alive for students. The Highlands and Hope Lodge are historic homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
