Math Institute

This challenging four week, six-credit Institute is dedicated to improving mathematics instruction and best practices, K - 12.

It is co-sponsored by the Bucks County Intermediate Unit and the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project. $500 stipends are available to reduce tuition cost through a grant from the Carnegie Foundation and the National Writing Project.

Institute Objectives:

  • Use writing strategies and ideas to develop communications and further understanding
  • Use different types of technology to improve instruction and inquiry based strategies
  • Increase collaboration, community, and professional development, K - 12

Where and When?

Location: Bucks County Intermediate Unit, Doylestown

Dates: June 27 - July 21.  Four days/week, no class July 4

Time: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis beginning in January.  An interview is required.  Participants become teacher consultants of the National Writing Project.  Call 610-436-2202 or e-mail Sally Malarney at smalarney@wcupa.edu for an application packet.
