West Chester’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program is now offering the same quality education in a convenient Center City Philadelphia location.
The priority application deadline is March 1, 2014, for classes beginning in the fall of 2014.
We will continue to process applications after these due dates, but early applicants have a greater chance of admission. You are encouraged to apply early and have all required documents (including recommendations and transcripts from all schools attended) submitted as early as possible. As completed applications are received, they are reviewed, decisions made, and the applicants notified. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
The MSW Program in Philadelphia is a part-time, 3- or 4-year MSW Program at the new PASSHE Center City location. Geared toward working professionals, classes meet one evening a week in state of the art classrooms at 701 Market Street. Academic standards and requirements of MSW Program in Philadelphia are consistent with the West Chester program.
The part-time MSW program is designed to meet the needs of today’s student, who is often working and caregiving while attending graduate school. All required courses (54 credits) must be completed at PASSHE Center City. However, students may take elective credits in Philadelphia or West Chester. Field education requirements are carried out in the second and third years of the MSW Program, concurrent with coursework. For students working full-time in addition to attending school, there are some opportunities for employment based field practica as well as extended field experiences, working at the field site over breaks and/or into the summer, with a reduced requirement for weekly hours.
If you have any questions about WCU or the application process, we’re here to help. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with Victoria McDonald if you have questions.
