In addition to offering students affordable high quality education, West Chester University also fosters an environment that is conducive to both learning and leadership development. To achieve these extracurricular objectives, the university provides several services to members of the university community, which consists mainly of students.

University Services

  • D2L Course Sites: This website facilitates course delivery to enrolled students using internet technology and the World Wide Web. Instructor's course materials can also be found at the Online Course Materials and the Library's Electronic Reserve (ERes) web sites. Students are advised to check with individual instructors on the location of their online course materials.
  • Counseling and Psychological Services: The Department of Counseling and Psychological Services provides a broad array of counseling services to students. Their counseling services range from individual counseling for personal problem solving to group counseling, and psychiatric services.
  • Career Development Services: The Twardowski Career Development Center provides career-related services including resume review, resume referral, on-campus interview scheduling and career counseling.
  • Drugs Alcohol and Violence Prevention: This is an initiative of the President of WCU that is aimed at addressing student's abuse of alcohol and drugs, and its consequences on the campus and in the local community.
  • Online Course Materials: This server hosts WCU professors' course materials and information.
  • Disability Services: The Office of Services for Students with Disabilities assists students having learning and physical disabilities to make the necessary adjustments at WCU.
  • Food Services: Information on dining options is available at the Dining Services' websites.
  • Health Services: These are provided by the Student Health and Wellness Center.
  • Tutoring Services: The Learning Assistance and Resource Center provides academic support services to students.
  • Information Services: The Information Services Division provides academic computing laboratory services to members of the university community primarily through the IT Help Desk.
  • Library: The Francis Harvey Green Library holds a collection of learning materials and also provides several library services, including inter-library loans, to both students and faculty.
  • New Students Program: This is offered to new students to enable them make a smooth transition to college life at WCU.
  • Off Campus Housing: The Off Campus and Commuter Services (OCCS), which includes campus shuttle services, are provided by the Sykes Student Union to assist students find local landlords that are willing to rent their properties to students. The OCCS also facilitates the transportation of students around the north and south campuses.
  • Postal Services: The WCU campus post office provides supply and postal services that are normally available at any United States Post Office. The campus post office is located at Lawrence Hall, Room 107, 2nd floor, 705 S. New Street.
  • Public Safety: The department of public safety is responsible for the security and safety of all members of the university community.
  • Recreation and Leisure: The department of Recreation and Leisure Programs administers the university's programs for aerobics, fitness, intramural sports, and outdoor adventure.
  • Resident's Life and Housing: The office of Residence Life and Housing Services provides on-campus facilities and resources that support an effective learning environment at WCU.
  • StuView: This is a portal application that provides secure access viewing to students' academic information, including course schedules, grades, billing information, etc. This service also allows authorized students to self-schedule for courses online.

  • Student Services Incorporated (SSI): SSI provides free/low-cost services and resources to students, student-led organizations, and student activities.
  • Webmail: This is an exchange server that provides WCU students' with access to their personal email accounts. Current students - click here to login to your WCU Exchange Email account.
  • Writing Assistance: The Writing Center assists students develop strategies for solving writing problems on a one-on-one basis and help them become better writers. These writing assistance services are provided to students at no cost.

Student Organizations

The university also supports several extracurricular activities for the benefit of students. These extracurricular activities provide students with networking and early leadership opportunities. The Office of Greek Life and Student Organizations is responsible for the registration of all student organizations on campus.
