Internships

Many students benefit from an internship experience during their junior or senior year. Often these are available during the summer. Formal internships are for academic credit, and involve a faculty supervisor as well as an employer supervisor. The student receives professional experience, and in many cases may receive a wage or expense money.

Current Internship Opportunities:

Esri is recruiting for a GIS summer intern in its Philadelphia regional office. This is a paid, full-time position which runs for 12 weeks.

The Wetlands Institute is looking for excellent students who can commit to an intensive 10-week internship during the summer 2012.

A summer 2012 internship opportunity (non-paid) exists at Valley Forge National Historical Park. The intern will receive practical experience in natural resource management, applying classroom theory through hands-on experience in the National Park Service.

The City of Philadelphia's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking academic interns to perform GIS work on several ongoing projects. These opportunities are non-paying, requiring a minimum of 20 hrs per week for a minimum of 12 weeks.
