GERMAN STUDY ABROAD

Millersville University in Marburg: One semester, two semesters, and a summer program.
Courses offered in German language, literature and culture and other subjects. 12-15 credits per semester.
Berlin Summer Program: June, 2008 at “Die Neue Schule” organized through Studium Forum.
Four week language program: Two courses, six transfer credits. Stay with a German family. City day tours. Optional six-week internship program at a Berlin museum (after required language program) for three credits. (prices to be determined per $/Euro exchange rate) June, 2008. Application deadline: March 1.
FRENCH STUDY ABROAD

Study French language and Creole culture at the Media Langues Caraïbes school. Courses taught by local faculty. Length of program:
two, four, six, or eight weeks. Number of credits proportional to length of stay: from 3 to 12 transfer credits. Small classes (maximum 6). Stay with a Guadeloupean family. Prices to be determined by dollar/euro exchange rate. School runs all year-long. Flexible registration.
SPANISH STUDY ABROAD
GUADALAJARA, MEXICO STUDY ABROAD (June 6 – July 18, 2008)
6 week Summer Study at ITESO University in the state of Jalisco. Courses in Spanish language, literature, film & culture are taught by Mexican and U.S. faculty, and are easily combined with English- language courses offered in a variety of disciplines; (6 credits + 1 recreational credit for guitar, salsa or Mexican dance classes). Weekly cultural events; city and art tours; optional weekend excursions to other Mexican states (Puerto Vallarta, Guanajuato, Michoacan, Zacatecas); volunteer opportunities. $1,850 tuition; $1,650 room and board with Mexican host family. $2,985 for airfare, room and board with Costa Rican family, excursions, conversation sessions with Costa Rican students, tuition (6 transfer credits- SPA 201, 202, 301, 302, culture, and literature, taught by UNA faculty in Spanish). Application period, March 19-April 16.

Courses taught in Spanish (though it is also possible to study other languages) in the following content areas: language, literature, culture, history, and sociology, 3 credits each; dance course, 1 credit. Stay with Spanish host family. Field trips and some weekend tours included. June, 2008. Application deadline : April 1st.
Second summer
session:
HEREDIA, COSTA RICA STUDY
ABROAD (proposed, pending approval)
English-language culture class taught at the Universidad Nacional in
Heredia, Costa Rica during the 2nd summer session; five-week program,
with the first two weeks on the WCU campus. Since this is proposed as a
CULTURE CLUSTER course, the course does not award SPA credit; it is
proposed (approval is still pending) for 6 ESP credits only. (ESP
credits do not fulfill the requirements for the Spanish major or minor,
but may be used as elective credits or, where appropriate, to meet the
foreign language requirement of other majors. University policy allows
students to take no more than 6 credits of culture cluster courses from
any single department.) Includes trips and excursions to learn about the
