The College of Health Sciences at West Chester University has a long history of successfully exploring and promoting promising and peer reviewed integrative health practices. We are proud to once again take the lead in the emerging field of applied mindfulness. Research is discovering more evidence each day that mindfulness meditation can have a powerful, positive and lasting effect on individual physical and emotional health. At our conference - Applied Mindfulness Conference at West Chester University: Why Mindfulness Now? - you will hear from our panel of experts about how such a simple practice can also promote health and well-being in our most important institutions – schools, businesses, hospitals and much more. Whether it’s through our initiatives in public health, environmental health, sports medicine, exercise science, nutritional sciences, and others our faculty, staff and students at our College are dedicated to promoting health and well-being for individuals, communities and institutions. So, please bring your wisdom, insight and enthusiasm and join us during our conference Why Mindfulness Now? I am quite confident that you will find the discussion lively, the community inspiring and the learning worthwhile. Please bring your friends too! Donald E. Barr, Ph.D.
