Athletic Training Curriculum

West Chester University students have one option of study for athletic training: the Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. This is the only program that provides the core courses in athletic training, as well as the required supervised clinical experiences. Completion of this option, only will qualify a student for the NATA Board of Certification Examination.

The Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training (BSAT) was established in 1983, with our first class earning the degree in 1987. The program is designed to provide comprehensive academic preparation for entry-level athletic trainers. In addition, related required courses will prepare students for graduate study in a variety of fields such as athletic training, physical therapy, exercise physiology and biomechanics. BSAT Course Requirements

The BSAT is a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited program as of 1996. The BSAT was re-accredited in 2001 for an additional seven years.
