Minor in Coaching
(18 semester hours)
Those students who successfully complete the program at West Chester earn transcript and written endorsement from the College of Health Sciences attesting to
school administrators that recipients have attained basic preparation for coaching. Behavioral competencies in the theoretical foundations of coaching, skill
acquisition, and management techniques also are required. Course offerings at the undergraduate and graduate levels are available.
The Athletic Coaching Minor is open to any student who applied for admission through the program advisor, Dr. John Helion. Applicants should direct inquiries to
that office for a coaching minor brochure. Course work is divided into 6 groupings in order to meet NASPE coaching guidelines. Non-Kinesiology majors may be
required to take appropriate pre-requisite courses for some of the minor classes – please see the non-major advising sheet below.
