Area of Instruction
Dr. Welsh teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in evaluation
and measurement, assessment, and quantitative methods of research.

Publications/ Professional Activities
Dr. Welsh authored Running for Their Lives: Physical and Sexual Abuse of Adolescent Runaways as well
as multiple articles focusing on social and educational issues of adolescents.

Biography
Dr. Welsh has worked with the Upper Darby School District and the Institute for Children and Families conducting research and evaluating programs.

She coordinated a tutoring program between West Chester University and Sleighton School for
adjudicated and adjudged youth.

Dr. Welsh taught elementary school, counseled middle school students, and directed a gifted program.

She also coordinated a statewide teacher assessment for the Connecticut Department of Education before coming to West Chester University in 1991.

While at West Chester, she served two years as Coordinator of Assessment.
