The program of study (18 semester hours) is designed to provide individual's who posses a master's degree in counseling or a related field the opportunity to add a speciality requirement in working with college students in counseling and student affairs settings. The goal is for students to gain an understanding of college counseling and student affairs, as well as increase opportunities for marketability and employment in the higher education field. Students enrolled in the program will learn the history and trends in the field, develop the skills necessary to work with this population, and learn to facilitate student success in college and universities.

EDC 530 Introduction to Student Affairs
EDC 531 Theories of American College Student Development
EDC 532 Leadership and Management in Student Affairs
EDC 600 Counseling Internship in Higher Education
EDC Elective (6 credits)
