Seeking Faculty for a Tenure-Track Position

The West Chester University of Pennsylvania Department of Nursing seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member with expertise in medical-surgical nursing for the traditional baccalaureate undergraduate.

West Chester University is seeking applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing faculty position in our BSN program. Faculty should be able and willing to teach using distance education and simulation methodologies. Rank is dependent on qualifications with hiring contingent on funding. These full-time tenure track positions will begin in the fall of 2012.
Campus interview candidates must successfully complete interview process and teaching demonstration.

Medical-Surgical Position Responsibilities/Requirement/Preferences
Responsibilities for the Medical-Surgical position:
       The full-time tenure track faculty member will provide clinical and didactic teaching to undergraduate level baccalaureate students. The faculty member must also demonstrate continuing scholarly growth compatible with the teacher-scholar model, and contribute service to the university and/or community.

Requirements for the Medical-Surgical position:

  1. Graduate degree in nursing.
  2. Clinical experience in medical-surgical adult health nursing with undergraduate students.
  3. Experience teaching medical-surgical nursing content to undergraduates.
  4. Eligibility for RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
  5. Evidence of matriculation and significant progress in a doctoral program of study, or completion of a doctorate.

Preferences for the Medical-Surgical position: 

  1. Earned doctorate.
  2. Clinical teaching experience in adult medical surgical program.
  3. Experience teaching with high-fidelity simulation methodologies.
