Dr. Hinson teaches courses in educational psychology and
adolescent development. She also teaches courses in the
Middle Grades Program.

Dr. Hinson's research activities include characteristics of effective teachers and the impact of diversity on teaching effectiveness.

Biography
Dr. Stephanie Lewis Hinson is a native of and still resides in Wilmington, Delaware. She earned her bachelors degree from Princeton University in 1977 and a doctoral degree in the Foundations of Education/Educational Psychology Program from the University of Virginia in 1988.

She was a program evaluator and teaching professional at the University of Delaware for many years before coming to West Chester University in 1992.

Dr. Hinson is from a  long line of teachers and is the proud mother of a 2007 West Chester University graduate and of a 2009 high school graduate now enrolled in the art school.
