III Field Experience Requirements (6 credits)  

 

EDC 593 Counseling Internship in School Counseling –Secondary  Fall, Spring

PREQ: EDC 591, 576;

EDC 504, 556 and EDP 550 must be completed before or taken concurrently with EDC 593

 Formal Application To Teacher Education (FATE) Must be Completed before student is admitted into Internship

 Application required- Department registers student in internship course 

Secondary Internships must be completed with a minimum of 600 on-site hours over at least two semesters in an environment that includes grades 7-12-e.g Middle School 5-8 or High School   Each 3 credit internship course has a 200 hour minimum requirement. Student may use Elective course as Internship if they choose the option of three consecutive courses to complete 600 hour internship requirement.
