November 6th and 7th, Sykes Ballrooms, 9:00am-4:00pm
Good Cause Café is a used book sale sponsored by the Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs. This event will take place Tuesday, November 6th and Wednesday, November 7th in the Sykes Ballrooms from 9:00am-4:00pm. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and financial support for those in the local community that struggle with the financial, medical and emotional effects of HIV and AIDS. We have thousands of books that are donated by staff, faculty, students, community partners, churches, and book stores such as the Second Reading Used Book Shoppe in West Chester and Kennett Square Resale Book Shoppe. Books are sold for $0.25 to $1.00.
Some of the categories represented include: Best Sellers, Suspense, Self Help, Hobbies, Home Improvement, Cook Books, Children’s Books, History and Biography, Romance and many other categories. The books are replenished as they are sold, so the selection varies each hour and each day. The Good Cause Café also hosts a bake sale that includes delicious items baked by our staff and faculty.
All proceeds benefit Family Services of Chester County’s Project ONE, which provides support to individuals that have been infected or affected by HIV and AIDS. This donation assists with the cost of medical co-pays, housing, and transportation to and from medical appointments, counseling and food.
To donate books, contact the Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs at (610)436-3379 or email@example.com to arrange delivery of the books
