Position(s): Peer Educator (paid position)
Volunteer
Responsibilities:
Certified Peer Educator:
-
Attend training one week prior to the start of
the Fall semester for certification.

Develop and implement health and wellness
programs for the campus community.
-
Facilitate programs in residence halls,
classrooms and for organizations.
-
Represent the Wellness Center at various campus
events.
Volunteer:
-
Maintain and
staff resource center (answer phone, assist visitors).
-
Assist peer
Educators with programs as needed.
Benefits:
This is a great opportunity to develop and utilize leadership
skills, as well as creativity, initiative, and public speaking
skills. Our goal is to educate and empower students in their
journey towards achieving a healthy mind, body and spirit!
Remuneration:
Peer Educators: Approximately $1600.00 for 30 weeks.
Requirements:

Student should possess a GPA of 2.5 for Peer Educators; 2.25
for Volunteers.

Student should have a minimum of 5-10 hours per week to devote
to the position.

Student must have at least one year of academic work remaining
at the WCU.

Comfort level with a highly visible position.

Student should have some current knowledge of current wellness
issues (sexual health, tobacco, alcohol/drugs, nutrition,
etc.) as they relate to college students.

Student should possess an understanding and acceptance of
diversity issues.

Computer skills helpful.
