The Wellness Center offers a variety of print, audio and video resources available for loan on current issues such as Substance Use and Abuse, Sex and Sexuality, Fitness and Nutrition, Eating Disorders, and General Wellness Issues.
The Wellness Center is staffed by trained Student Directors (undergraduate paid staff), Peer Educators (undergraduate volunteer staff), Graduate Practicum students, interns and student volunteers.
Programs and workshops are offered for small groups in the residence halls, classes or student organizations.
Referrals to on and off campus agencies is available.
Assistance in developing and implementing programs, workshops, and lectures.
Grab & Go Kits on stress, healthy eating, smoking cessation, study skills, exercise, and safe sex.
Free Condoms / Dental Dams
HIV Testing in conjunction with the Student Health Center and Planned Parenthood.
The Wellness Center offers a variety of programs to the campus community such as:
The Wellness Fair: In the Fall over 50 agencies and organizations gather in Sykes Union to share with students wellness information. Usually held in April along with the SGA Banana Day.
Alcohol Awareness Week: Typically held in the Fall semester, Alcohol Awareness Week consists of programs, events and contests to help students understand issues of alcohol use and abuse.
One in 200: A passive program, held in the Fall & Spring to heighten awareness of the impact of HIV and AIDS for those infected with and affected by this disease.
Great American Smokeout: The third Thursday of November. Designed to held people stop smoking.
Eating Disorders Awareness Week: Typically held in the Spring.

The Wellness Center is committed to providing students with learning opportunities and awareness about current issues that affect their growth, development and overall health and well being.
Goals:
To assist students in making good decisions about alcohol and drug use.
To assist students in embracing activities and lifestyle choices that increases their awareness of stress management, self-esteem building and general lifeskills.
To provide information to students to assist them in making responsible and informed decisions about their sexual behavior and relationships with others.
To assist students in understanding how to care for themselves as defined by the six dimensions of wellnessemotional, environmental, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual.
To create environments both in and out of the Wellness Center that encourage values based discourse on current issues regarding wellness.
To provide an environment by which students can engage in teaching others about a variety of wellness issues.
