*JANUARY 26 – MLK SERVICE PROJECT, Sykes Ballrooms, 3:00-5:00 p.m.  Start the year off right and join us for making “no-sew” fleece blankets for patients at A.I. DuPont Hospital for children.  Students can drop in anytime during those hours.

FEBRUARY 1 – INVOLVEMENT FAIR. Sykes Ballrooms, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Come visit our table.

FEBRUARY 3 - NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY to raise awareness of and to fight women’s heart disease.  www.GoRedForWomen.org.

FEBRUARY 10 - HABITAT FOR HUMANITY COFFEE HOUSE. Advance tickets only $3 contact the Habitat office in Sykes or look for a table. At the door it will be $5.

FEBRUARY 11 – POLAR PLUNGE to benefit the Brandywine Valley Association, Brandywine Picnic Park, 9:00 a.m. – noon.  Participate or volunteer.  For more information go to www.brandywinewatershed.org or call (610) 793-1090.

FEBRUARY 11 and 12, Lionville, YMCA. Championship swim meet. Voluteers needed Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.

FEBRUARY 13-15- AMERICAN GIRL FASHION SHOW FITTINGS.  Benefits the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware. Volunteers do not need to have seamstress experience to help with costume fittings.  Located at the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware. 3to 4 volunteers are needed at each fitting.  For more information please contact Sara Funaiock at 302-428-5340 or s.funaiock@rmhde.org.

FEBRUARY 14- HAVE A HEART FOR CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK.  Sykes from 10:30 am to 5:30pm in the lobby. Fundraiser - guess the number of candy hearst and you could win a resturant guift card and reservation for 2 on Valentine's Day.

FEBRUARY 18 – PINK ZONE GAME, Women’s Basketball.  Annual game to raise money for breast cancer research.  Proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow Foundation.  Fans are asked to wear pink to support the cause.  Watch WCU vs. East Stroudsburg at the Hollinger Field House, 1:00 p.m.

FEBRUARY 18 - BASKET BINGO at the Lionville YMCA - 12:00 TO 4:30 pm for set-up, clean up and event help… 15 volunteers needed.  Please contact sue.gualtieri@umly.org

*FEBRUARY 20 – ANNUAL GREAT BROWNIE BAKE-OFF to raise money for two local food banks. Sykes Lobby, 11:00 a.m. – to 4:00 p.m.  Sponsored by the Office of Service Learning & Volunteer Programs. FEBRUARY 25- ADHD AT HOME, AT WORK, AND IN THE CLASSROOM. sponsored by CHADD and WCU.  8 to 10 student volunteers needed to direct participants to buildings and rooms, help with parking, ushering, set-up and take down.  7:45am-1:30pm.  Located at Sykes Student Union.  Students may volunteer in two hour time shifts or for the whole day. MARCH 15 – DELAWARE VALLEY EDUCATION CONSORTIUM (DVEC) TEACHER JOB FAIR, South Campus.  Volunteers needed throughout the day.  Professional dress will be required. Parking assistance and directing employers from 8am to 11am.  Volunteers to unlaod for employers 8am to 10am.  Data entry from 10am to 3pm - this one can be in shifts.  A great way to see a major job fair before you need one!   MARCH 19, 20 AND 21- DAFFODIL DAYS PACKING AND DELIVERY. At the Vanguard ID Systems, 1210 American Boulevard, West Chester, PA.  help sort thousands of daffodils!  Stop by our office for a form or contact Jamie Gold at jamie.gold@cancer.org. Local delivery volunteers are also needed.

*MARCH 30 - SCRABBLE TOURNAMENT to benefit Relay for Life. A Sykes After Dark Event, 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.  Teams of two will play for prizes. APRIL 3-4 - GOOD JOBS, GREEN JOBS EASTERN CONFERENCE. Volunteers needed each day for registration, greeting participants, and workshops.  Located in Philadelphia. For more information contact Ashley Haugo at ashleyh@bluegreenalliance.org.

APRIL 14 – CHESTER COUNTY HOSPITAL DASH FOR DIABETES, 5K run, 2.5K walk and Kids Run.  Downtown West Chester.  Volunteers needed between 1:00-6:00 p.m. for registration, set-up and breakdown, chaperones and road marshals.  Volunteers can work for 2-3 hour shifts.  For more information contact Kathy Stocker at (610) 431-5191 or kstocker@cchosp.com.

APRIL 21-22 – EARTH DAY EVENT FOR ALL ADOPT-A-BLOCK ORGANIZATIONS.  Clean your block after the annual Goose Creek Clean-up on April 21.
